1. General Information
LayoutChecker is designed as a local-first web application for visual inspection of design files. The core purpose of the service is to allow users to check PDF and design files directly in their browser without uploading those files to our server.
We take privacy seriously. Your design files, PDF documents, artwork, images, fonts, text content, inspection regions, and comparison results are processed locally in your browser whenever possible.
2. Local File Processing
When you load files into LayoutChecker, the files are loaded into your computer's browser memory. They are rendered, analyzed, and compared locally inside your browser.
Your PDF files and design files are not uploaded to our server.
The server does not receive, store, process, or analyze the contents of your loaded design files.
3. Data We Do Not Collect
At the current stage of the application, LayoutChecker does not intentionally collect or store personal user data for inspection workflows.
In particular, we do not collect:
- Uploaded PDF files or design files
- File contents
- Rendered page images
- Artwork, logos, text, or graphics contained in your files
- Inspection results from your local browser session
- Template regions unless you manually save or export them
4. Data Stored Locally in Your Browser
Some information may be temporarily stored in your browser memory while you use the application. This may include:
- Loaded reference files
- Loaded files to check
- Rendered page previews
- Inspection regions
- Temporary check results
- Interface state during the current session
This information is used only to make the application work during your active browser session. Closing or refreshing the browser may clear this temporary data.
5. Settings and Configuration
Some application settings may be stored on the server, such as interface settings, module configuration, language settings, release settings, and contact form configuration.
These settings are used to operate the website and application interface. They are not used to analyze or access your design files.
6. Cookies and Browser Storage
LayoutChecker may use browser storage or similar local mechanisms to remember interface preferences or application state.
At the current stage, LayoutChecker does not use tracking cookies for advertising, analytics, profiling, or cross-site tracking.
7. Contact Form
If you use the contact form, the information you enter may be sent to the website owner by email and may also be stored on the server for technical or administrative purposes.
This may include:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your message
- The time the message was submitted
The contact form also uses a simple anti-spam check and a time delay between messages to reduce automated submissions.
8. Server Logs
Like most websites, the hosting server may automatically process technical information when you access the website. This may include your IP address, browser type, requested files, date and time of access, and technical error information.
These logs are generated by the hosting environment and are used for security, troubleshooting, and server operation.
9. Third-Party Services
LayoutChecker is designed to avoid sending your design files to third-party cloud services for analysis.
If third-party tools, hosting providers, payment systems, analytics, or account services are added in the future, this Privacy Policy should be updated accordingly.
10. File Confidentiality
Your files remain on your computer during inspection. LayoutChecker does not claim ownership of your files, templates, artwork, or inspection data.
You are responsible for ensuring that your own use of the application complies with your confidentiality obligations, client agreements, and internal company policies.
11. Future Changes
LayoutChecker is currently in active development. Features such as user accounts, subscriptions, payment history, cloud synchronization, shared templates, or extended reporting may be added in the future.
If such features are introduced, this Privacy Policy should be updated to clearly describe what data is collected, how it is used, and how users can control it.
12. Contact
If you have questions about this Privacy Policy or how LayoutChecker handles data, please contact us through the Contact page.
